I am a cybersecurity leader and incident response specialist with over two decades of experience managing high-stakes digital and physical crises. Currently, I serve as a Security Engineering Manager at Google, where I am the Regional Lead for Security Response (Americas). One of my proudest professional achievements was spearheading the 15-month global remediation effort for the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities.
Before Google, I spent 14 years at NASA Ames Research Center. My roles included serving as the Deputy CISO for the center and Lead Engineer for the NASA Security Innovation Laboratory, where I helped secure some of the world's most advanced supercomputing and flight simulation environments.
My approach to digital security is deeply informed by my background in emergency response. I have 30 years of experience in Fire and Rescue, having previously worked in FEMA California Task Force 3, the NASA DART team, and volunteer fire departments in Maryland and California.
Beyond the terminal, I am an amateur cellist and a member of the International Space Orchestra. I also enjoy writing about the intersections of technology, ethics, and the human element of security.
